From the rooftop…

6th Street

Last week’s theme on the Urban Sketchers Discussion group was “From the rooftop”. The group moderator wrote that he was “heading to the roof of a parking garage for a unique perspective” of some local landmarks. I followed suit and found this sketchworthy view on the 9th floor roof deck of the Kiener Plaza East garage. The metal-roofed structure on the right encloses a portion of parking garage on the lower floors of the Metropolitan Square building. The Railway Exchange buiding, left, is the site of Macy’s department store. The barrel-vaulted top floor of One City Center is seen in the background.

Sadly, I never got to said roof. :( This is super. Love the light on the building at the right. Cool composition. Looks great, as usual. :)

  2. Thanks so much for posting the theme on USk and your kind words, Steven. I saw at least two more views I want to try from the parking garage roof.
